Mansalu Circuit Trek

This trek was officially opened to tourist in 1991, and recently getting more and more popular as its beautiful trek and less tourists.

This trek is one of the featured trekking that Himalayan Windhorse organize in Nepal.

The area to the east of the Annapurna are the peaks of Manasalu group. Few visitors trek to this area, which makes a visit here all the more unique and unspoiled. The area is bordered by River Buddhi Gandaki and to the west River Marshyangdi. This area is marked by cultural highlights are: Gorkha, which is the ancestral seat of the reigning Shah dynasty, rich of Sherpas, Gurung and Tamang traditional villages and the temple of Manakamana.

Since the trekking in the manasalu region originated at around 1000m. and reach as high as 5200m. the trekker will see a wide range of flora typical of the middle hills and alpine regions of Nepal. Plants to be seen around here are pine, rhododendron, wildlife including barking deer, pika and Himalayan marmots etc… Birds to be sighted in the Manasalu region are pheasant, raven, chough etc… People of Tibetan origin inhabit several villages. Other groups here are Gurungs and Tamangs.

The trekking in Manasalu region requires a special permit and can be undertaken through Government registered trekking agency only.

The journey around these legendary mountains is enjoyable, tough and it is very rewarding and unforgettable.

Beginning from Gorkha Buri Gandaki valley river, over Larkya La pass 5213m., and descend to the Marsyangdi River, you will trek down to Besi Sahar, from where we will drive back to Kathmandu.

Kanchanjunga Base Camp Trek

Kanchenjunga (8,586m) the third highest peak, is where the name of this region is derived from. It falls in the eastern Nepal which also includes Makalu Base Camp. There is endless variety in this part of the country. Most ethnic groups are represented and many beautiful villages such as Dhankuta, Khandbari and Bhojpur, are prosperous and clean.

Treks in this area tends to be more expensive since we will have to organise all the trekking gears as well as food items from Kathmandu and fly all the way to this region. The treks are longer too as it takes at least two weeks just to reach the high mountain areas. But it is very rewarding and unforgettable.

 

Annapurna Base Camp Trek

This is the most popular and famous trek in Nepal.
This trek is one of the featured trekking that Himalayan Windhorse organize in Nepal.

It is more distinct than any other treks by its variety of people, rich culture, beautiful landscapes and natural scenery. This trek lends you to north west of Pokhara through an ancient trek to Tibet across glaciers, gorges and water falls. From the Annapurna Base Camp you will have a close look of Mt. Annapurna and Mt. Machhapuchhre.

At the final destination the Annapurna sanctuary (Base camp 4200m.)will be welcoming you patiently. The Annapurna Sanctuary has been treasured by local inhabitants as a place of spiritual refuge since long before trekkers “discovered” it. A natural amphitheatre, ringed by Annapurna south 7219m. and I, Varahashikhar7847m, Gangapurna 7485m. and Machhapuchhre 6993m, it serves as base camp for expeditions as well as favourite trek destination for mountain lovers. Beginning in Pokhara, you’ll climb to Naudanda (1,463 meters) and gain elevation slowly through.

Everest Base Camp Via High Passes

  • Mt. Everest, standing mightily at 8848m. is the World’s highest peak and the ultimate Himalayan dream for many trekkers. Everest trek (with more time for acclimatization) enables you not only to witness Mount Everest but also the 4th & 5th highest peaks. Lhote at 8516m., Makalu 8467m., as well as numerous other giant peaks. This region is truly the roof of the World.

Besides, trek goes through the heartland of the Sherpa (Mountain peoples) who are of Tibet origin and passes numerous charming village, many with picturesque gompas that are spectacularly set amidst its mountainous surrounding. Before reaching the Everest Base camp, the trail follows the Khumbu Glacier with huge ice pinnacles soaring to unbelievable height.

We fly to Lukla and following the Dhuda Koshi valley through beautiful pine and rhododendron trees. The jagged, Icy & snow capped peaks of Thamseku 6623m. & Kushum Kanguru 6369m, tower above the trail. A steep climb then leads us to Namche Bazaar 3345m. were we take our first stop for rest (Acclimatization).

On the trail to Thyanboche, those with a keen eye will be rewarded with sightings of musk deer, thar (Mountain goat) Impeyan Pheasant. Thyangboche monastery is set in a beautiful location with chortens adorned with player flags and mani walls a constant remainder of the local Buddhist cultural. Views of Mt. Everest 8848m., Lhotse 8516m.,Ama Dablam 6856m, Thamserku 6623m., Kangtenga 6779m., seen form near.

We then trek via Pangboche, a small village nesting in the shadow of Ama Dablam, to Pheriche for a day of exploration. It is then a steep ascent to Lobuche 4930m.,the highest night on the trek. The trail follows to the Khumbu glacier & Kala Pathar 5554m., where the best view of Mt. Everest & a 360 Digree panorama of the World’s highest peaks are laid out before us. Our return route takes us via Thyanboche, Namche Bazaar, Lukla for a traditional farewell with our professional staffs.
