Seven days walking with the Lord Buddha Tour

Seven days Buddhist Pilgrimage tours to Lumbini the birthplace of Lord Buddha, Pokhara, Dhulikhel and the monasteries around Namo Buddha, Pharping and Kathmandu valley. 

Join this Buddhist pilgrimage tour in Nepal that will allow you to explore and learn about the Buddhism by visiting Lumbini the birth place of Buddha, Pokhara, Dhulikhel, Namo Buddha, pharping and Kathmandu valley. You can relax and enjoy the historical monasteries and religious significance sites of all of the places you’ll be taken to. Explore the Peace Park in Lumbini, the nature of Dhulikhel, and the monasteries and temples in Namo Buddha, Pharping and around Kathmandu.

Itinerary

Day 1: Himalayan Windhorse’s airport representative will receive you from Kathmandu International airport and transfer you to the hotel. After you get short rest and refresh, your guide will meet you up and brief about the whole program.

Himalayan Windhorse will host the dinner with the cultural dance show.

Day 2: Drive to Namo Buddha where the Buddhist master give short introduction about Buddhism, the monasteries and meditation.

Namo Buddha is one of the most important and highest holy place located at the top of the hill nearby Kathmandu which takes about 2 ½ hour drive from Kathmandu. One of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Nepal and one of the holiest in the world is believed to be the place where the Buddha, in a previous life as a prince, gave his body to a famished tigress and her cubs. Namo Buddha is known as ‘Takmo Lu Jin’, among Tibetans and people of the Himalayan region, which literally means ‘Tigress body generosity’. Back to Kathmandu in the evening and check in the hotel.

Day 3: fly Kathmandu to Lumbini.

After breakfast, we will fly to Bhairahawa airport then short drive to Lumbini and then we visit the lumbini temple. Lumbini, the traditional birthplace of the founder of Buddhism well known as Gautama Buddha, lies in the foothills of the Himalayas in Nepal. The site is a large garden with a grove of pipal trees. In Lumbini there are many Buddhist temples and shrines from various countries are scattered around the holy site. The modern temple consists mainly of a simple white building that protects ancient ruins, with the exact spot of the Buddha’s birth identified. We will visit all those temples and monasteries represent from different countries. 

In the evening we  can do an hour meditation under the Pipal tree where exactly the Buddha was born, what a lucky person you are ! Overnight at a hotel.

Day 4: fly from Lumbini to Kathmandu

Today, we continue roam around the stupa and Mayadevi Temple, Ashoka pillar and see the footsteps of the Lord Budhha. We spend some time the last moment walking and meditation with the Buddha and then shopping, buying souvenirs. After lunch, we fly back to Kathmandu and check in the hotel.

Day 5: Visit different monasteries and famous Boudhanath Stupa.

Drive for around an hour and a half to Kopan monastery. Just north of the ancient Buddhist town of Boudhanath is the Kopan hill, rising up out of the terraced fields of the Kathmandu valley and visible for miles. Kopan is a thriving monastery of 360 monks, mainly from Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet, and a spiritual oasis for hundreds of visitors yearly from around the world. Likewise, we will visit Shechen monastery and white monastery where hundreds of foreigners are learn and practice Buddhism and cultural diversity. 

Back to the hotel. 

Day 6: Today is your last day of the program so let’s take more advantages.

This meditation centre, with a meditation hall, Buddhist library, bookshop, Thangka gallery and a vegetarian garden café, provides you with a peaceful retreat in the midst of this ancient busy city. We strive to serve your needs according to Buddhist ethics and principles. The Himalayan Buddhist Meditation Centre (HBMC) for Mahayana Buddhist studies was founded in 1982 by the late Lama Thubten Yeshe and Lama Thubten Zopa Rinpoche as an urban centre for meditation, study and spiritual practice. HBMC is run under the spiritual guidance of Kyabje Lama Thubten Zopa Rinpoche and is the Kathmandu city centre of the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition.

Day 7: final departure, our representatives will take you to the airport.
